Privacy statement
Bascom’s privacy policy is very straightforward; we only collect the personal data that’s needed to perform our services. Nothing more, nothing less. On this page, we explain exactly what that data is, why we collect it, what we do to secure it, who else can access it and what your rights are.
What is personal data?
According to the law, personal data is any information regarding an identified or identifiable natural person (i.e. not an organisation). Under this law, identified means that the information relates directly to you, while identifiable means that the information can be traced to you. The latter could be your IP address, for example, or a combination of your postcode and house number.
Which personal data do we collect and why?
We only collect personal data that you actively provide us with. We never store any personal data without an explicit and conscious act on your part. We collect your personal data in the following situations:
When you contact us
When you contact us, for example via the contact form on our website, by emailing us or by getting in touch differently, we store your name, email address, phone number and message. We use this information to respond to your message, and we store it for up to 7 years, so that we can help you faster and better in the future.
When you place an order with us
When you place an order with us, via our website for example, or via phone or email, we store your name, email address, home address and other data that you share with us. We use this information to process your order. The law requires us to keep this data for 7 years.
What do we do to secure your data?
Bascom takes various measures to protect your personal data. Our website, for example, features SSL. This means that all data you submit through our contact form or the checkout on our website is encrypted. This data is subsequently securely stored within the European Union. Data access is restricted via user rights and multifactor authentication. And if we pass your data on to someone else? In that case, we ensure there’s a written agreement stipulating that this party treats your personal data with the same care as us.
Who gets access to your data?
Bascom collects your personal data and is legally responsible (“controller”). Our contact details are:
Bascom

United Kingdom
Phone number: 0121 368 0033

Other parties within Europe might receive your data as well, but only if that’s needed in the context of carrying out your agreement with Bascom. This may include parties in the following categories: IT services, payment providers, carriers, installers, and accountants. They are only allowed to use your data in the context of your agreement with Bascom.
What are your rights regarding your data?
You have the right to:
access your data;
receive your data in a machine-readable format;
have your data altered;
have your data deleted (as long as this is legally permitted. For example, we must keep a record of all our order data for at least 7 years);
limit the processing of your data;
object to the processing of your data;
lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority.
You can contact us regarding all the above-mentioned points, except for the last one.
